Token Gesture Data

As you participate in A Token Gesture and use this site we will collect some data about your use of this site.

We will record data about:

The primary means to interact with this site and project will be via a Tezos wallet. You will require this wallet to mint an NFT, and perform other actions, such as viewing artworks. Any transactions you make with your wallet via the smart contract for A Token Gesture, or any other public blockchain are publicly visible. However, there is no personal data required, or connected to, this wallet. The research team is not responsible for your management of a third-party wallet, nor do we collect any information that identifies who owns which wallet.

Before you interact with a Token Gesture you will be asked to indicate that you consent for this data to be used for the purpose of delivering the website and project experience, conducting research and development, and occasionally invitation to further related research projects and events. Continuing to use the Token Gesture website constitutes consent for the purpose of such uses. Further information on the purposes and aims of the research are available here.

Wallets, NFTs, the artwork, and their transactions cannot be changed, deleted or removed once created, since they are built upon decentralised blockchain technologies. However, there is no personal data required to produce these.

If you wish to withdraw from this research, you should stop using the Token Gesture website, and your wallet, and email e.morgan@ed.ac.uk to unsubscribe from further engagement. We will delete any personal data you have provided to us, except a record of your consent.

You can revoke your consent for the use of the collected data by writing to the Data Controller’s representative stated below. Information you enter will always be used anonymously. It will be stored securely on The University of Edinburgh servers until it is downloaded, anonymised, and used according to the University of Edinburgh Data Protection and Research Ethics policies. All raw data will be destroyed after the completion of the use in the context of which it was collected.
